Usually I am quite good at making bad poo-poo pee-pee jokes. But to my own surprise I am not half as bad and tasteless as the producers of this disastrous film. Meet the Focker is simply one of the worst movies I have seen this century. The plot is fairly simple: future parents in law are about to meet eachother. The son, whose name is Gaylord Focker (a fine pun indeed), is a little ashamed for his alternative parents and does anything to give his future father-in-law a good impression.

There is a baby in it, who is very annoying, there is a cat and a dog in it, who are just slightly funny, and there are a lot of unfunny sex and toiletjokes. Strangely enough, many critics were moderately positive about this film, and there were regular loud laughs in the theatre were I saw this film. Meet the Focker is probably simply too high-brow for me.
The producers reheated Barbra Streisand’s corps in the microwave, and cryonized De Niro’s acting career for good. His last interesting role goes back to Jackie Brown anyway, and that is almost a decade ago (1997).
